About Steam-assisted Flares
combust heavy hydrocarbons WITH high-pressure steam on site.
Steam-assisted flares are one of the best ways to combust heavy hydrocarbons so long as you have a source of high-pressure steam on site.
They work by forcing oxygen into the waste gas stream through a steam manifold at the flare tip, creating turbulence to improve combustion, which is similar to how other medium-assisted flares work. However, steam is especially effective in systems with heavy hydrocarbons because the steam helps to break up the hydrocarbon chains, preventing soot from forming, further minimizing visible emissions.
Why Choose Us
Powered by Partnership, Fueled by Innovation
We aren’t just one of North America’s leaders in combustion technology and innovation and steam-assisted flare system engineers in our own right, we’re also very well connected.
Our sister company, TIW Western is Western Canada’s most experienced designer and manufacturer of steam generators for heavy industry, and we work closely with them. So closely in fact, that we share our Calgary office with them.
We’ve benefited from their expertise over the years, and you won’t find another manufacturer for flare systems that understands steam generation and usage to the degree that we do.
We custom design, engineer, and manufacturer every flare that we make to suit your system, site, waste exhaust contents, and other needs, and you won’t find anyone better qualified to do it with steam.

Replacements
Do You Need a Replacement?
If your current steam-assisted flare system is giving off visible smoke, has a fluctuating flame quality, or visible deficiencies such as sagging or corrosion in the stack, you should contact us about a replacement.
If you’re currently using an air-assisted flare or utility flare and you’re struggling with smoke emissions, you might want to consider your other options. We can help with that.
