Positive Pressure Production Packages
What in the world is a PPPP?
You may have heard them also referred to as P-Tanks, Vapour-Tight Tanks, or even "those railcar tanks". They all refer to the same concept originally patented by Tornado.
PPPP's are used for producing sour crude single-well sites or non-unitized sites during drilling programs.
A typical package performs three functions:
Separation:
Preheated fluid allows gas and oil to separate without without dumping, waxing or freezing concerns
Storage:
Liquids are dumped to the tank and uniformly heated, where positive pressure (15 psi) forces vapours to flare.
Flare Stack:
Vapours are combusted a short distance from the package via packaged flare piping which is easily assembled onsite.
PPPP’s are quick to install, simple to operate, and are equipped with emergency safety shutdowns (high level and high pressure) to ensure no vapour loss or spills. Operating on propane they require no onsite power. Companies can realize immediate production of their sour fluids at an economical price.
Does Tornado still manufacture these?
Yes – we build the same patented package Tornado customers have relied on for years. Since 2006, however, Tornado PPPP’s are only available for purchase or rent through our exclusive distributor Eveready Rentals.
